Local woods only
1 quick photo of something I've been playing with the last couple of nights. I don't want to give too many details yet, I am willing to say that these are for our club's August President's Challenge - Local woods only.

Do you have any oak out there in Arizona? Here in Arkansas we don't have quite the contrast in our wood as you do. That Acacia and Desert Ironwood have great color!
ReplyDeleteThere are a few oaks, but most of us avoid in AZ avoid them as there are much better choices readily available. Mesquite, Desert Ironwood, African Sumac, Acacia, Olive, and Carob, are fairly common. There's also a ton of Eucalyptus and Palo Verde but they're usually better off being avoided unless they're burled or spalted, or have some other significance.
